What’s Happening This February at Sababay: Moments of Connection, Celebration, and Wine in Bali
Sababay Winery
Mar 31, 2026
February unfolded as a vibrant chapter at Sababay Winery, where wine became more than a beverage — it became a medium for connection, celebration, and meaningful experiences. Set against the relaxed elegance of House of Sababay, the month’s events reflected the essence of a modern Bali winery experience: immersive, welcoming, and deeply rooted in place.
As one of the destinations shaping the evolving wine culture in Indonesia, Sababay continues to redefine what a winery visit can be — blending wine tasting in Bali with lifestyle gatherings, cultural moments, and community connection.
Switching Off to Reconnect
On 7 February 2026, Sababay hosted Switch Off Session Vol.17, themed Marak Night, in collaboration with Marak Bali. Designed as a gentle invitation to step away from digital distractions, the session encouraged guests to be fully present — with their surroundings, conversations, and sensory experiences.
Held in the winery’s tropical garden environment, the atmosphere felt effortlessly relaxed. Guests enjoyed curated wines, signature cocktails, and interactive activities as the afternoon transitioned into sunset. Experiences like this highlight how winery events in Bali can extend beyond traditional tastings, offering moments that combine relaxation, social connection, and discovery.
Switch Off Session has become a signature program that reflects Sababay’s philosophy: wine is best experienced through authentic presence and shared moments.
Celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse
Later in the month, Sababay welcomed guests for an intimate Chinese New Year Long Table Dinner on 22 February 2026, celebrating the arrival of the Year of the Fire Horse. With only 21 attendees, the evening was intentionally personal — creating space for conversations to flow naturally among guests, many of whom were meeting for the first time.
The venue was adorned with festive red and gold elements symbolizing prosperity and renewal, while the communal long table encouraged interaction and togetherness. Guests were invited to introduce themselves one by one, transforming the dining experience into a warm and inclusive gathering that reflected the spirit of the Lunar New Year.
The dinner was presented in collaboration with Panda Kitchen, featuring a curated menu inspired by regional Chinese flavors, particularly Shenzhen cuisine. Courses included handcrafted dim sum, comforting soups, and signature dishes such as Beijing duck and poached grouper, culminating in tang yuan — a symbolic dessert representing reunion and completeness.
Wine pairings elevated the experience throughout the evening, beginning with Fiorosa as a welcome drink, followed by Ascaro paired with appetizers, Fiorosa alongside dimsum, and a choice of Reserve Red or Reserve White for the main course. The progression showcased the versatility of Sababay wines and demonstrated how wine tasting in Bali can seamlessly complement Asian cuisine.
A Lifestyle Rooted in Connection
Together, February’s experiences reflected Sababay’s broader vision — positioning wine as part of a balanced, joyful lifestyle rooted in connection, culture, and place. Whether through mindful gatherings, curated dinners, or immersive Bali wine experiences, Sababay continues to offer moments where guests can pause, reconnect, and create lasting memories.
