2009

Sababay was started from a dream of empowering farmers and evolving Indonesia's agriculture potentials with the sole mission of bridging farmers and the market to narrow the social gap by applying fair trade principles, while streamlining production methods to ensure grape growers earn better income, alongside conducting research focused on cultivating high-quality grapes through viticulture.

2010-2013

Sababay embarked on its journey in 2010 with the establishment of its winery. Over the next three years, the company meticulously crafted its products, laying the foundation for what would become a remarkable story in the world of Indonesian wines.

2014-2015

The years 2014 and 2015 marked a turning point for Sababay as it earned its first award, gaining recognition for the exceptional quality of its wines. The company expanded its reach by ensuring nationwide distribution across Indonesia.

2016

Sababay achieved global acclaim when its Moscato de Bali was chosen to be showcased at La Cité du Vin in Bordeaux, France – the largest wine museum globally. The same year, the brand received appreciation at the International Wine Conference in Georgia, solidifying its position in the international wine community.

2017

Sababay was chosen as a co-branding partner by "Wonderful Indonesia" in 2017. Additionally, the company launched Mascetti, the first port-style wine in Indonesia, named after the village and beach adjacent to the winery.

2018

In 2018, Sababay established the WE-Indonesia campaign, a platform for young Indonesian talent. This initiative aimed to foster an emotional connection with the brand. The year also witnessed the launch of new labels for the Velvet & Reserve series and the activation campaign "New Latitude, New Attitude" featuring the Bli Jali Wine Trailer Pop-Up Bar.

2019

Sababay continued its commitment to innovation by launching Sacramental wine for the first time for the Catholic Church in Indonesia. The company also introduced new packaging and labels for its sparkling series and added three new sparkling products: Ascaro, Moscarosa, and Lambrusco.

2020

In 2020, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Sababay opened its winery for public tours, providing a unique brand experience. The company also launched "Mistelle," a vin de liqueur, as a symbol of hope and appreciation dedicated to women who demonstrated resilience during the pandemic.

2021

The year 2021 marked a new chapter in Sababay's journey with the launch of Sababay Distillery. Introducing three crafted spirits named "SABA" – grappa, vodka plain, and vodka infused – the company continued to showcase its commitment to innovation and diversification. Just three months after the launch of SABA, the spirits won one of the highest honors at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, receiving a Double Gold Medal.

2022

Building on the success of SABA, Sababay expanded its crafted spirits line by introducing coffee liqueur in 2022. The same year, the company received the Tourism & Hotel Award 2022 as the local attraction of the year in Bali, solidifying its position as a key player in both the beverage and tourism industries. Additionally, the Sababay Winery Tour played a pivotal role in educating and inspiring consumers about the values and craftsmanship of Sababay.

2023

Magnolia, our semi-sweet white wine, debuted with tropical fruit and honeydew notes, winning over consumers. Mid-year, we launched the all-new Rosé series, including revamped Pink Blossom, Moscarosa, and the new Fiorosa Sparkling Rosé. For the first time, we crafted these wines using Bali-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, pushing the boundaries of our winemaking.

2024

Sababay made a disruptive move by introducing a new category with the Flavoured Wine Series, featuring Sangria. By consistently embracing innovation, Sababay continues to drive the development of wine trends in Indonesia. This innovative move not only leads the development but also brings a new vibrancy to the local wine scene.
